Social mission

The natural gas supply business of CJSC UKRGAZ-ENERGO is strategically important to provide energy security of Ukraine, sustainable functioning and development of the national economy and affects the interests of millions of Ukrainians. Therefore, CJSC UKRGAZ-ENERGO adopted a number of principles to govern its business practices. The Company pays special attention to the interests of the nation and the public, seeing its operations as important factor of growth in the economy and well being of Ukrainians, formation of transparent business environment in Ukraine.

- Ukraine's Economy and Social Sector Support. CJSC UKRGAZ-ENERGO provides uninterrupted supply of natural gas at a price, considerably lower than the maximum specified by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and NERC that, firstly, strongly facilitates uninterrupted operation of Ukrainian gas supply system and, secondly, provides «financial backing» for painful transition of Ukraine's industries and the social sector to worldwide prices for energy carriers.

- The Company is one of the largest payers of taxes to the State Budget of Ukraine. In 2006, the Company paid over 4 bln. UAH ($800 mln.) to the State Budget (3% of the budget revenues). Since the beginning of 2007, CJSC UKRGAZ-ENERGO transferred to the budget nearly 5.3 bln. UAH. It is not inconceivable that in 2007 the Company's payments to the State Budget will account for nearly 10% of the budget revenues. By payments to the budget, CJSC UKRGAZ-ENERGO is ahead of such industries of the national economy as ferrous metallurgy and railway transport.

- Maintenance of Ukraine's gas balance. The Company is committed to maintenance the natural gas balance in the country and minimization of market volatilities by pumping high amounts of gas to Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities. CJSC UKRGAZ-ENERGO enabled Ukraine to promptly meet its demand for this fuel buying the resources from the supplier at the lowest prices across CIS, Europe and Baltic states. In 2006, the Company supplied over 10 bln. m³ gas to NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy companies at cost for further sales to customers in budget-supported categories.

- Contribution in formation of civilized and competitive energy resources market. CJSC UKRGAZ-ENERGO adheres to transparent and open business philosophy. The Company avoids barter, off-set, note and debt transactions. In their business, UKRGAZ-ENERGO is oriented towards consistent payment discipline, timely and complete settlement under contracts with gas suppliers.
