Naftohaz Ukrainy Hoping Gazprom Not To Impose Fines For Undertake Of Gas In Q1

The Naftohaz Ukrainy national joint-stock company hopes that the Russia's gas monopoly, Gazprom, will not impose fines for undertake of the imported natural gas in January-March, first deputy board chairman of Naftohaz Ukrainy Ihor Didenko said at a press conference.
"We pay on the basis of the bills. Thus, I may say that in January, February and March, the national joint-stock company paid the bills obtained from Gazprom," he said.
At the same time, Didenko said that the primary bills were corrected after each month in the first quarter.
In the first quarter, Naftohaz imported over 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas.
The contract signed between Naftohaz Ukrainy and Gazprom on January 19 envisions the import of 5 billion cubic meters of gas.
In March, Naftohaz Ukrainy paid Gazprom USD 342.727 million.
As earlier reported, in January, Naftohaz Ukrainy imported about 0.5 billion cubic meters of gas and 1 billion cubic meters in each February and March.
